Chrysalis is your opportunity to develop your network and take advantage of a wealth of industry, community and academic experience. Meeting students from around the world, you will form international connections while meeting and learning from current leaders will give you insight into what it takes to be a leader.

About IES

International Education Services Limited (IES) is a Brisbane based, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, innovation and growth in international education.

Our programs have been preparing international students for university since 1197 with more than 6,000 students having successfully transitioned into their chosen undergraduate degrees at The University of Queensland. In 2015, the program opened a second campus, and in 2016 a third, allowing more students to study at IES Foundation Year.

In 2004, IES expanded its presence within the international education sector with the establishment of its digital brand, PIER (Professional International Education Resources). PIER has partnered with Australian and international stakeholders to develop a range of digital products including the Massive Open Online English Course (MOOEC), the Education Agent Training Course (EATC) and the Study Australia App. PIER’s ongoing partnerships include service arrangements with the Australian and Queensland Governments, education institutions, education service providers and peak bodies. IES has also developed the Cultural Competence Program as a joint initiative with national Australian broadcaster SBS, to improve cultural competence in the Australian workforce by delivering large scale, cost-effective training. The goal is to improve social cohesion in Australia and improve outcomes for organisations operating in an increasingly culturally diverse society.

In 2010, IES established Chrysalis; a leadership program for Australian and international young leaders. In 2014, IES joined with Brisbane Marketing through its Study Brisbane program to offer Chrysalis 2014: Global Youth Challenge, a two-round competition to coincide with, and complement, the G20 Leaders Summit held in Brisbane in November 2014.

The Chrysalis experience offers students the platform to develop into young global leaders. We offer themed workshops to nurture globally minded talent in the areas of leadership, communication, cross-cultural awareness, social issues, negotiation and problem solving skills. Students will have the opportunity to engage with world-class academics and business leaders and learn from their experiences.

IES has received several Queensland State Government awards recognising its exceptional client service, including the Best Pathway Program and Outstanding International Student Support awards. IES has also received nominations for several industry awards including the Lord Mayor’s Business Award for Excellence in International Education Delivery.

IES has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative educational products and services for all stakeholders in the international education sector.

The Chrysalis Conference

The Chrysalis International Young Leaders Conference is a one week conference held in Brisbane. The 2019 program will run from 27 July through to the 3 August with a focus on Cross-Cultural Leadership.
